SCOUT ( PRAMUKA )

The principles of Scouting describe a code of behavior for all members, and characterize the movement. The Scout method is a progressive system designed to achieve these goals, comprising seven elements: law and promise, learning by doing, team system, symbolic framework, personal progression, nature, and adult support.
The Pos Indonesia released one stamp series feature the important figure of Scouting, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX and Lord Baden Powell, on August 14 2003. This issuance  is for commemorating the scouting movement in Indonesia.  The Cancellation Postmark presented the scout movement sign .

In 1909, Scouting developing in Chile, United States, Ghana, India and the rest world of the world thereafter. In the first International Jamboree in Olympia London 1920, Lord Baden Powell was acclaimed as Chief Scout of the World.
Scouting movement in Indonesia began  with the establishment of Netherlandse Padvinders Organizatie branch in 1912. The first national scout organization in Indonesia was Javaanse Padvinders Organisatie inspired by Mangkunegara VII in 1916. Scout movement unified  in one organization as PRAMUKA ( Praja Muda Karana) by Presidential Decree 1961 . Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX was acclaimed as the Chief of Scout in Indonesia in 1961.
