In response to the General Assembly resolution 55/282 of 7 September 2001, the United Nations Postal Administration decided to commemorate the International Day of Peace by adopting a three-year annual global stamp issuance commencing on 21 September, 2004.
The stamp designs for ‘My Dream for Peace One Day’ stamp issue was obtained through an agreement between The International Association of Lions Clubs and the United Nations. On 21 September 2006, the United Nation Postal Administration issued the last series of this theme. In this blog presented the First Day Cover of the last stamp series which have issued same day with the stamp issuance.
Every year The International Association of Lions Clubs sponsor a youth global Peace Poster Contest. Lions Clubs International created the Peace Poster Contest to give young people a chance to think about world peace and creatively express what it means to them.
The selected poster for stamp designs chosen are taken from Cheuk Tat Li (Hong Kong), Kosshapan Paitoon (Thailand), Ariam Booglio (Italy), Sierra Spicer (USA), Klara Thein (Deutschland), and Laurensia Levina (Indonesia).
The 39 c stamp presented a peace poster from Cheuk Tat Li which won the grand prize winner and the 84 c stamp presented a peace poster from Kashapan Paitoon from Thailand which have won the merit prize.
The f.s 0.85 stamp presented a peace poster of Ariam Booglio from Thailand which won the merit prize and the f.s 1.20 stamp presented a peace poster of Sierra Spicer from Italy which won the merit prize.
The 0.55 Euro stamp presented a peace poster of Klara Thein from Deutschland and the 1.20 Euro stamp of presented a peace poster of Laurensia Levina from Indonesia.
