Green Cities – Plan For The Planet

To commemorate the World Environment Day, The Directorate-General Postal and Telecommunications of Indonesia issued special stamp of “Environment Care” series including souvenir sheet and First Day Cover on June 05, 2005.
Theme  have selected for the World Environment Day 2005 is “Green Cities “ and the slogan is “Plan for the Planet”. The Mangrove forest is chosen as theme of stamp’s design for socializing to Indonesian people the significance of the Mangrove Forest Conservation to the ecosystem protection.

There are two different stamp designs, both have printed in denomination of Rp. 1500,-features “Mangrove forest”. The Cancellation postmark shown mangrove forest in black colour.
Mangrove forest defined as the communities of floral (trees, shrubs, or forests) that grow along an-aerobic coastlines in tropical areas. Their roots provide a breeding ground for plants and animal biodiversity, and also aid in building up coastlines.

Kites

The kite is a toy that flied and tied by yarn. The kite may be flied because aerodynamic forces the generated by its relative movement toward wind.The tradition of playing the kites can be divided in two categories, for fight and beauties.

PT. Pos Indonesia has issued the stamp series feature kites, consist of  5(five) stamps and one souvenir sheet which consist of 1 (one) stamp on July 15, 2002.  Alongside this issuance, two kind of FDC  issued, one FDC  attached with  full set stamps and one FDC  attached with souvenir sheet.

The kites for fight generally in trapezium form. The kites for beauty have various forms such as bird, fish , snake, fog, etc.  In Indonesia, the playing of kites was distributed in most region related to their many tradition. The Balinese have tradition to use kites as a part of their spiritual life. The playing of kite is a part of their manner to thanks to Gog of fertility that give them abundance life.

INDONESIAN FRUITS - 2002

The various kind of fruits growing and developing in Indonesia were supported by the good climate. Not all the Indonesian fruits were the Indonesian indigenous plants, but there were originated from the other countries.
Indonesian fruits are chosen as the theme of definitive stamp series. PT. Pos Indonesia issued the fruit stamp series, on August 01, 2002. The issuance consist of 4 (four) single stamps and one FDC (First Day Cover).
The FDC have shown an image of the various kind of Indonesian fruits and the Cancellation Postmark, image of durian fruit.

The Indonesian fruit chosen for this stamp series are Morinda citrifolia, Manggo (Mangifera indica), Star fruit (Averroa carambola), Durian (Durio zibethinus).
Among of above fruits are derived from outside of Indonesia are Morinda citriflora ( from Pacific Ocean Islands), Star fruit ( derived from India)

National Family Day – 29 June 2002

Family is the  least unit of community that is convinced as the potency educational institute for building and developing the character, personality, morale, ethics, etiquette and religion for each member.  Family having the high authority to regulate their household.There is no other power including the government to intervene directly toward a family.

At meanwhile, the continuously change is occurring in the world. Then the family problem more developing.
The Indonesian Government obliges to overcome these problems by providing the facilities in order that family has enough capacity to solve those experienced problems.



The celebration of National Family Day is yearly executed to be expected becoming as momentum to improve the importance of family role, as reflected on the celebration theme of the year 2002 “The National Personality is Build by us Through The Family”

Therefore, PT. Pos Indonesia, issued the one stamp series include the First Day Cover on June 29, 2002 depicting the harmony atmosphere of a family and added with hand writing by President of Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri  about the theme of National Family Day 2002, “The National Personality is Build by Us Through the Family”

Hoopoe, Bird of the year 2013

On March 12, 2013 the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Republic of Belarus have issued the stamp “Hoopoe” from the series “Bird of the year”. There are logos of the International organization for the protection of birds "BirdLife International" and the Belarus public organization "Ahova ptushak Batskaushchyny" (APB) on the stamp.Letter “P” is equal to the air-mail tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad.
 

Special postmark and First Day Cover designed by A. Mityanin. Colour of the postmark is black.
The hoopoe is an exotic looking bird that is the size of a mistle thrush. It has a pinkish-brown body, striking black and white wings, a long black down-curved bill, and a long pinkish-brown crest which it raises when excited.

My Dream For Peace One Day


In response to the General Assembly  resolution 55/282 of 7 September 2001, the United Nations Postal Administration decided to commemorate the International Day of Peace by adopting a three-year annual global stamp issuance commencing on 21 September, 2004.

The stamp designs for ‘My Dream for Peace One Day’ stamp issue was obtained through an agreement between The International Association of Lions Clubs and the United Nations. On 21 September 2006, the United Nation Postal Administration issued the last series of this theme. In this blog presented the First Day Cover of the last  stamp series which  have issued same day with the stamp issuance.

Every year The International Association of Lions Clubs sponsor a youth global Peace Poster Contest. Lions Clubs International created the Peace Poster Contest to give young people a chance to think about world peace and creatively express what it means to them.
The selected poster for stamp designs chosen are  taken from Cheuk Tat Li (Hong Kong), Kosshapan Paitoon (Thailand), Ariam Booglio (Italy), Sierra Spicer (USA), Klara Thein (Deutschland), and Laurensia Levina (Indonesia).
